The price of 24-karat gold increased significantly in the domestic market in just two days, rising by Rs. 4,600 per tola. The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reports that the price of the precious metal increased from Rs. 352,900 per tola on the previous trading day to Rs. 356,900 per tola on Thursday.

Gold has previously risen Rs. 600 per tola on a single day, then more sharply the next day, for a two-day spike to Rs. 4,600 per tola. The cost of 10 grammes of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs. 3,430, from Rs. 302,554 to Rs. 305,984. The price of 22-karat gold, meanwhile, rose by Rs. 3,144 per 10 grammes, from Rs. 277,351 to Rs. 280,495.

In contrast, silver prices remained stable, with no change in the rates for one tola (Rs. 3,745) or ten grams (Rs. 3,210). Internationally, gold prices rose by $30, reaching $3,375 per ounce from $3,345, while silver held steady at $35.87 per ounce, as reported by the Association.
