Pakistan is set to visit the Caribbean next month for a limited-overs series, originally planned to include three T20Is and three ODIs, beginning on July 31.

According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) are discussing the possibility of removing the One Day Internationals (ODIs) from the schedule. Instead, they may add three more T20Is to the series.

The T20I matches are expected to take place in Broward County, Florida, on July 31, August 2, and August 3. Meanwhile, the ODIs were initially scheduled for August 8, 10, and 12 in Trinidad at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Discussions about swapping the ODIs for additional T20Is are still in progress. The primary reason for this potential change is to give both teams more preparation time for major T20 tournaments, including the ACC Men’s Asia Cup (played in the T20 format) and the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Sources indicate that increasing the number of T20Is would allow both sides to experiment with different team combinations and refine their strategies before these high-profile events.

This wouldn’t be the first instance of PCB modifying a series format. Earlier this year, they engaged in similar talks with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to convert a three-match ODI series into extra T20Is. While an agreement was initially reached, the plan was later scrapped due to political tensions, and the series proceeded as a three-match T20I contest.
